Pantelleria is a volcanic island off the coast of Sicily. I was sent there to capture a home for Monocle magazine. What I remember best was when the home owner kindly invited me to stay the night as I’d missed the last ferry, she put me up in the room pictured below.

Over breakfast the next morning I told her I’d had crazy dreams of being underwater all night. Turns out the bedroom was once the homes fresh water tank.
